I was about to get up and get ready for work today when there was a
knock on my front door. It was the delivery guy. He said he had a
delivery for me so I checked the voucher and I saw BOB STAEBELL on
it!!!!!!!!!
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S HERE.... my heart went from 60bpm to
1000bmp I'm sure as I jumped up and down for it to be delivered.
Well, that ended quickly. He told me he was the only one and that we
both would have to move it. I didn't care, as hyped as I was, I
could have lifted all 120#'s of it myself.
We got it off the truck and into my house where I proceeded to
remove the outer carton and start examining it. The top of it LOOKS
FANTASTIC... Bob put alot of work and effort into this bad boy.
I fooled around with getting it set up just long enough for me to
bust ass to get ready for work.
It'll still be there waiting for me to get home and put her
together.....

Took me a year to do the planning, deciding, and saving to get it.
I'm very pleased with it, and I can't wait to load it up this
weekend.

When they called and let me know they had a delivery for me and
wanted to set up the delivery time I told them between 0800-1300.
The driver showed up at 1245.
It doesn't take very long to get it unpacked.. TRUST me on that :)
You got any pics of yours Skeeter ?? I'd love to see some.

Guys... it never hurts to start planning early. I probably talked
and e-mail Bob for a good 6-8 months before we came down with a
final plan. If you are going to have something done special. Get
started on it now.
The wife and I are very happy with our choice on humidors and our
selection on who to build it. Bobs craftsmanship is superb to none
other. This isn't only a Humidor but a piece of furniture. I'm sure
it'll be around alot longer then me.

Here are the newest pics of it completed. There is also a pic that
Bob is going to add to his webpage at a later date.

I thought about a AH-1200 with all the bells and whistles, and
thought even more about the AH-2000. Bigger size, more storage.
Then I saw the Aristocrat M Plus. What's a fella to do
Maybe Matt from Avallo will see this an offer a repeat customer a
good discount or maybe Bob from Staebell will counter with a
discount in hopes of luring in a new customer
Seriously...the choices are tough, I like the looks of both

I looked at both and ordered the Aristocrat M Plus. I wanted some
custom work done and was very impressed with the burl inlays shown
            on Bob's site.
I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival, so I can't speak directly as to
the quality of the unit... but I did get a LOT of recommendations
from people and the vast majority were extremely positive about the
            Aristocrat units.
FWIW... either way, enjoy your purchase!

In the end I went with Bob Staebell and the Aristocrat M Plus. Black
Walnut with walnut burl inlay top. This was a tough decision. I've
been  happy with my Avallo AH-1200 but in the end this time I
wanted one just a little prettier.
Who knows how long before I fill this one and then I'll just hire

Skeeter, we must have been the same person or something in a former
life. Bob's making me essentially the same unit. Aristocrat M Plus
in black walnut with burl inlay top.
I store most of my cigars naked, so added five additional drawers
(total of six, only one shelf for boxes) and said "why not" and
added burl inlay doors too... other than that, our units are
            identical.
My unit will probably be here in a couple of weeks. In the meantime,
if you want, take a look at the "in progress" photos...

The pics in progress are awesome.
I almost went completely the other way in terms of drawers vs.
shelves. I store mostly boxes and cabs. I considered removing the
one standard drawer for another shelf. Then Bob suggested I could
leave the drawer in and he would throw in an extra shelf which can
easily be swapped out with the drawer. A nice option to have.
I went with glass doors so I can see my babies inside and showcase
some of my rarer items but that black walnut with walnut burl inlay
top was too beautiful to pass up.
Looking forward to it and filling it up

I've had my M Plus for about 3 weeks now and I love it. I was able
to store all my excess boxes and cabs, take some from my Avallo so

I got a bigger Aristocrat, but if Bob makes it, buy it. Top notch

I have had the "mini" for about a week. It came with the "super"
cigar oasis. Its looks and performance are great. Also, Bobs
capacity ratings are right on the mark. Mine has 15 boxes in it with
room for a couple more, and the singles drawer has about 100 cigars
in it. This humidor gets my official "seal of approval"

Thanks for the responses. I am seriously considering this
cabinet...but...Isn't the set-and-forget overkill for the small
volume involved? I would think a CigarOasis would be sufficient.

Just took delivery of a "mini" today. Dark red mahogony. It looks
beautiful. Went over it with a fine tooth comb and it's PERFECT. I
know many people with cabinets from Bob and they all get raves. As
soon as it stabilizes at 64%, I'm in business.
I would highly recommend the mini if you're looking for a high
quality small cabinet at a great price.

ShannB

With the 15 box capasity...what size boxes? 15 DC's...15 DC cabinets
            ? 15 Churhills?....I would assume 15 DC boxes...Looks like he makes
            GREAT stuff.....

oedipus1

            Member Since:  Aug 2002 :  10:15:57 PM

Shann, shot you an email this afternoon with a few pics of the new
cabinet. As you'll be able to see, I've got 8 boxes of various sizes
on the bottom, with space for one or two more, and five or six on
the middle shelf with room for at least three or four more. So the
15 boxes seems to be a very conservative estimate. I would venture
to say that, depending on the ring of the cigars, you could easily
            fit 12 50 cabs also.

Got mine about two weeks ago also. It is purr-ty ain't it? Mine
stabilized in about 3 days and my replacement Cigar Oasis is holding
            a perfect 64% RH.
Now that I have my color schemes and woods picked out for the living
area, I'll be ordering a larger cabinet from Bob in the next few
            weeks. Great work.

BIG E1

Did you turn your cigar oasis all the way down to get 64%rh once it
was stable? Whats your F* degree?

oedipus1
                        Member Since:  Aug 2002 :  08:21:09 AM

Sounds like you got the same batch of CO's that I got. If you read
the thread down below, the first one I got kept the RH at 70% AT
MINIMUM SETTING. Something happened after a few times of plugging it
in and unplugging it to keep the RH down near 65% that finally made
it run right, but to answer your question, yes, I had to have it
turned all the way down for it to keep 65%. It's still defective
because the minimum setting on the Cigar Oasis SHOULD BE well below
65%. The repacement that Bob sent me holds 63-64% perfectly, and the
dial is about 1/4 turn above the minimum setting. My room
            temperature is 68-72 degrees.
I would contact Bob if you haven't already. I'm sure he'd like to
know. I was told that there was a large batch of miscalibrated
units. As a matter of fact, there is a small hole in my new unit
where the factory went in after the fact and recalibrated it.

Bob Staebell

            Big E1,
Do give me a call on Monday or email me. This is the second instance
from the previous lot of Cigar Oasis in which the range seems to be
set a bit high. I would like to get it back in my shop to see what
            is going on with it.
I will be glad to swap it out for one from the new batch. It seems
this latter batch was calibrated low at the factory but the CO folks
in NY, caught the error & adjusted it to the correct setting before
            shipping to most distributors.
            cheers,

Bob is the man. Trust me, that cab will fill itself up in no time.
That was a poor mooch attempt though.Contact flip flop or SSJ for

Well... The M-Plus has now stabilized and all boxes are resting
confortably. The cabinet is of extraordinary quality, with room for
about 70 boxes. It also has a double wide drawer for loose cigars
with diagonal vent slots at the bottom and a fan behind. After 5-day
conditioning, the set-and-forget unit is holding 67% steady. I will
            soon post some pictures.

Don't tell me that BIG E1. That's the one I'm thinking of getting!
Maybe the regular Aristocrat end table is a better bet?

I was going to buy the Aristocrat Plus. But my wife talked me into
the big double door M. And I'm planning to use the space. If I were
you, Cabaiguan, I would go for a bigger unit. The price diferential
is very small for the added capacity. Good Luck.

The Mini is real nice for the money but if you are going to have
more than 15 boxes I would go bigger.

I now see why everyone raves about Bob and his cabinets. This thing
            is downright beooootiful!
I got the golden oak color to match our hardwood floors (my
compromise to the BOSS) and the set-and-forget system. Although the
instructions say to let the thing stabilize for 2-3 days, it was
holding solid after about 6 hours!!! I started to put cigars in
slowly and after all was said and done, the readout was 67% this
morning. Same as I left it last night.
I want to thank Bob for the great service and quick turnaround
(about 2 weeks). The cabinet is just the right size for my needs,
however, the scary thing is I can see myself running out of room! I
have nine boxes in there now and I can easily fit twice that if need
            be.
If a cabinet is what you want, Bob is the MAN. Great product and
            service. Keep 'em coming Bob!
